If one of your intentions in the New Year is to become more involved in the world of policy and politics -- particularly in the area of taking action on climate change and improving sustainability across the board -- welcome to ecologiCWorks. This platform will be a home for news, networking, and conversations about all matters ecological -- from a planetary perspective to a household one.
And if you don't know who I am, that's cool. I have been a career educator, teaching literature, composition, journalism, history, and sustainability for almost three decades. For a decade or so when I lived in South Florida, I also wrote and produced lots of content for a public radio station in Miami. Right now, I work at an independent school in Tacoma -- an institution which has been generous enough to let me develop their sustainability programs and curriculum. As I see it, ecologiCWorks is simply a more public and (hopefully) high profile way to continue my own education and advance the causes that matter most to me -- and hopefully to you.
